More Women Entrepreneurs Expected To Emerge
Great news for all women entrepreneurs! Today’s growing number of businesswomen are expected to still increase in numbers as a surge of new female entrepreneur is now seen to emerge by business analysts and existing women CEOs.
Carol Realini , CEO of Obopay, a Redwood City Mobile Advertisement is one to support this forecast. Realini says this time is better than about 10 years ago for women entrepreneurs to really immerse themselves in the business world. She says that women are taken more serious today then ever before, and are more serious in their business en devours. According to her, the old case of women not being able to raise money for venture capital, or women not fit to become Ceos are on its way out. Although the issue of raising capital still is an area where women entrepreneurs often meet challenges.
“The challenge of being a woman CEO is, one, you’ve got to get in the game. So, you have to be willing to try, And it’s intimidating, especially if you’ve never done it before.” Realini explains further. She has worked on 3 of her own companies and has managed to make $140 million in 5 years. Needless to say, she knows how cut throat it is to be a real women entrepreneur.
Historically, the business word is male dominated, thus the rules have been set for men. However as time passed and more women are penetrating the business field, women are faced to playing by the rules of men. To succeed, businesswomen need to learn the ropes and prove the same level of capabilities as men. Businesswomen are learning to be wise and tactical with decisions they are making, they are now learning when and how to ask for help, and are sticking by their guns. and are flexible to cope with the demands of business. More women are now ready and willing to give up their private lives and their time for themselves and their families to work those extra hours. Its a trade off the women of today is willing to make. Realini even says the same demands are expected to all kinds of entrepreneur,” It is not about women. A man’s got the same challenges and a male entrepreneur, a black entrepreneur, a gay entrepreneur, they’re all going to have the same challenges.” she said.
Needless to say, the time for women to become the businesswomen they dream to be is now! The window of opportunity is wide open and all you need to do is the to muster the courage to jump in and give it all. With more and more women doing the inevitable, soon, the once male dominated business world will have its equal counterpart- the females.
