Zainab Salbi, Founder and CEO of Women For Women International in Marie Claire Magazine
Life is Like a Rollercoaster

Zainab Salbi, Founder and CEO of Women for Women International, in her article in Marie Claire Magazine, explores the often untapped and under-appreciated capacity of women around the world to cause major and lasting change for good. Salbi works with women survivors of war.
She beautifully illustrates this using a metaphor "The butterfly effect" concept, that small, seemingly insignificant events—like the fluttering of a butterfly’s wings—can produce tremendous and unanticipated consequences.
When I read her article, I couldn't stop reading and by the end of the article I was crying. My husband came in my office and asked, "why are you crying"? I then read it to him. We were both crying.
I sat in silence for a few moments and I thought to myself: Am I happy? Can I live my life fuller? When was the last time I danced? Do I sing enough? What can I do to help more women?
I am sure you will be touched with her story just as I was. I realize more every day, just how important it truly is to invest in other women worldwide by bringing Women Leaders, like Zainab Salbi to the forefront.
I invite you to pause for a few moments in your life and ask yourself these same questions. As Zainab Salbi writes, "we will all go one day". Make it count!
