I Speak Positively About my Family Members
My words have the power to uplift my family. Whenever I speak about my family members, I make it a point to shine a light on their positive qualities. Regardless of the situation, I speak to the strengths of my family members with faith and confidence that they are great.
It is my responsibility to protect and safeguard them, not tear them down. Instead of pointing out the flaws in my family members, I accentuate their strengths. I help my family see exactly who they were created to be and inspire them to reach higher. Every word I speak about them builds them up.
My family members can trust me not to betray their confidence and to keep private information between us. I refrain from divulging unnecessary information by telling others only what they need to know. Whatever issue I may have with my family members is inconsequential to others.
I forgive my family members for their mistakes and imperfections because I am imperfect myself. My job is to love the people I have been given as gifts by the Creator who placed us together in a family, and avoid trying to “fix” them.
Today, I choose to honor, treasure, and love the members of my family regardless of how I feel about the choices they make. I find it easy to overlook their shortcomings by fixing my eyes on their positive traits.
